Job Overview

The role of Principal Lead Engagement and Community Communications is crucial in leading effective, strategic, culturally safe, and responsive engagements with Aboriginal communities. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in strengthening relationships with Local Health Networks (LHNs), Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs), Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), and other stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to strengthen partnerships and collaborative working relationships across the health system.
  • Foster knowledge translation to improve healthcare experiences and outcomes for Aboriginal South Australians.
  • Collaborate with service providers to determine priorities, service capacity, capability, solve problems, share information, and make shared decisions to improve Aboriginal health outcomes.
  • Support place-based partnership participation and commission services that address the needs of Aboriginal communities.
  • Work with stakeholders to build and maintain effective working relationships and provide support where necessary to build their capacity.
Key Requirements
  • A strong understanding of Aboriginal health issues and a commitment to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal South Australians.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to achieving state and national commitments to improve Aboriginal health.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, including willingness to travel interstate and work outside regular hours when required.
