Job Opportunity

This is a key leadership position that provides strategic direction and guidance on the design, development, and implementation of data analysis and reporting systems to enable transparent monitoring and accountability on Aboriginal health internal and external outcomes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering on commitments under Closing the Gap Priority Reform Four: Data and Information Sharing and system-wide transformation. This involves working closely with Aboriginal Health Unit Leadership Team and other internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities to strengthen the strategic use of data across the system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing system-wide leadership in Aboriginal health outcome data, evaluation, and research matters
  • Building capacity across the system in relation to data governance, measurement, collection, analysis, and reporting methods
  • Ensuring alignment of data practices and standards with Indigenous Data Sovereignty and Indigenous Data Governance principles
  • Working closely with Aboriginal representatives through partnership mechanisms to inform approaches to data and information sharing
Requirements:
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Aboriginal representatives and other stakeholders
  • Understanding of Indigenous Data Sovereignty and Indigenous Data Governance principles
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting, with a focus on Aboriginal health outcomes
