Rural After Hours Practitioner
Job Description:The Rural After Hours Practitioner plays a critical role in receiving and assessing reports of alleged abuse and neglect of children and young people. This involves undertaking investigations, developing plans to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people, and responding to urgent out of hours child protection matters.
The practitioner will work closely with the After-Hours Service (AHS) to assess new reports, conduct urgent visits to assess risk and safety, and develop case plans to achieve the best outcomes for children and families.
This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct assessments and investigations into allegations of abuse and neglect
- Develop and implement case plans to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people
- Work collaboratively with the AHS and other stakeholders to ensure effective response to urgent child protection matters
Applicants should possess a degree in a relevant field, such as social work or psychology, and have experience working in child protection or a related field. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
