Key Responsibilities- Lead Student Advocacy Team: Oversee the provision of independent advice and advocacy on behalf of students, ensuring that their concerns are resolved in a fair and timely manner.
- Develop and Implement Advocacy Strategies: Collaborate with the Student Life team to develop and implement effective advocacy strategies that meet the needs of our diverse student population.
- Provide Training and Support: Train and coach a team of specialist advocacy officers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality advocacy services.
- Manage Complex Student Matters: Act as a subject matter expert in student advocacy, providing guidance and support to students and staff on complex student matters.
- Develop and Maintain Relationships: Foster strong relationships with students, staff, and external stakeholders to ensure that our advocacy services are responsive to the needs of our community.
- Relevant Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in student advocacy or a related field, with a strong understanding of tertiary education policies and procedures.
- Leadership and Management Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team of advocacy officers, with a focus on developing their skills and knowledge.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Student Advocacy: A strong understanding of student advocacy principles and practices, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a tertiary education setting.
