Advocacy Officer

We are seeking an experienced Advocacy Officer to join our team at Swinburne University of Technology. As an Advocacy Officer, you will play a crucial role in empowering students with the confidence and knowledge to navigate the University's policies and procedures.
Your responsibilities will include providing assistance and information to students through various communication channels on a wide range of academic and non-academic matters. The primary objective is to meet the needs of Swinburne University of Technology students by continuously improving service delivery, providing individualised support to enhance student satisfaction, and strengthening their connection with the University throughout their journey.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that is committed to providing professional and responsive engagement with both internal and external stakeholders of the University.
About YouTo be suitable for this role, you will need to have experience in the following key areas:
- Advocacy and/or the interpretation and implementation of policy, procedure, and regulation.
- Delivering outstanding customer service, implementing new initiatives, and taking an innovative approach to customer service and conflict resolution.
- Assisting a culturally diverse client base in high-stress and high-pressure situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to negotiate and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Contributing to the development of a positive and co-operative team environment.
A relevant tertiary qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training is required.
