Advocacy Officer

Swinburne University of Technology is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Advocacy Officer to join our team. As an Advocacy Officer, you will play a crucial role in empowering students with the confidence and knowledge to navigate the University's policies and procedures.
Your responsibilities will include providing assistance and information to students through various communication channels on a wide range of academic and non-academic matters. You will work closely with students, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed.
The primary objective of this role is to meet the needs of Swinburne University of Technology students by continuously improving service delivery, providing individualized support to enhance student satisfaction, and strengthening their connection with the University throughout their journey.
About YouTo be suitable for this role, you will need to have experience in the following key areas:
- Demonstrated relevant experience in advocacy and/or the interpretation and implementation of policy, procedure, and regulation.
- Ability to deliver outstanding customer service, implement new initiatives, and take an innovative approach to customer service and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated experience in assisting a culturally diverse client base in high-stress and high-pressure situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to negotiate and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Ability and capacity to contribute to the development of a positive and cooperative team environment.
