Advocacy Officer

Swinburne University of Technology is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Advocacy Officer to join its Student Life team. As an Advocacy Officer, you will play a crucial role in empowering students with the confidence and knowledge to navigate the University's policies and procedures.
Your primary objective will be to meet the needs of Swinburne University of Technology students by continuously improving service delivery, providing individualised support to enhance student satisfaction, and strengthening their connection with the University throughout their journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing assistance and information to students through various communication channels on a wide range of academic and non-academic matters.
- Delivering outstanding customer service, implementing new initiatives, and taking an innovative approach to customer service and conflict resolution.
- Assisting a culturally diverse client base in high stress and high pressure situations.
- Negotiating and collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Contributing to the development of a positive and co-operative team environment.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated relevant experience in advocacy and/or the interpretation and implementation of policy, procedure, and regulation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed communication skills, both written and oral.
- Prior experience and knowledge of the University sector is preferred.
