Kirinari Community Services is seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team in Wagga Wagga, NSW. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing specialist behaviour support services to National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants and their support teams.
Key Responsibilities- Compliance and Policy: Ensure compliance with Kirinari's policies and procedures, as well as national and state legislation and policy, including the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
- Restrictive Practices: Have a thorough understanding of, and promote the reduction of Restrictive Practices across Kirinari and its customers.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop positive relationships and work with relevant stakeholders, including individuals, families, specialist support services, and government organisations, in the delivery of positive behaviour support.
- Behaviour Support Plans: Develop, implement, and review positive Behaviour Support Plans that address behaviours of concern and enhance the quality of life for participants.
- Data Analysis: Utilise data tools to complete behavioural analysis and functional assessments.
- Professional Development: Continuously participate in opportunities for professional development to ensure high-quality service delivery and consistency with current trends.
- Clinical Caseload: Balance priorities and maintain an active clinical caseload in consultation with the Clinical Services Manager.
- Record Keeping: Accurately record keeping and reporting.
- Qualifications and Experience: A relevant degree and/or demonstrated experience in support of individuals with disability and complex needs and behaviours of concern would be highly regarded.
- Registration: Current registration to practice as a core, proficient, or advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner in accordance with the NDIS Capability Framework would be highly regarded.
- Policy and Legislation: A thorough understanding of relevant policy and legislation relating to Behaviour Support and Restrictive Practices at national and state level, including the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
- Teamwork: A desire to learn and work as part of a transdisciplinary team.
- Positive Behaviour Support: Experience of, or a thorough understanding of the concepts and principles of Positive Behaviour Support, including functional behaviour assessment, development of positive behaviour support plans, and their implementation and review.
- Communication and Time Management: High-quality written and verbal skills, including excellent computer skills, interpersonal skills, and time management ability.
- Autonomy and Teamwork: Ability to work both autonomously and as a member of the Behaviour Support team.
- Travel and Licensing: Hold a current driver's license and a willingness to travel interstate.
- NDIS and Working with Children Checks: Ability to obtain a NDIS Workers Check and a relevant state Working With Children Check before commencement.
