Job Description

The Governance Advisor will be responsible for supporting the administration of corporate governance processes and ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

They will collaborate with the board and management to foster efficiency and collaboration, while maintaining corporate records and adhering to ASIC and APRA standards.

The role will oversee day-to-day activities associated with Director Elections, the Annual General Meeting, and annual reporting, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing administrative support for the Group Company Secretary;
  • Maintaining governance records and documentation;
  • Coordinating Board and Board Committee meetings;
  • Assisting with Director Elections and the Annual General Meeting;
  • Ensuring compliance with ASIC, APRA, and other legal requirements;

This is a permanent, full-time position requiring a Bachelor of Law (or similar) and governance qualifications from the Governance Institute of Australia and/or AICD.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years' experience as an Appointed Company Secretary of a highly regulated company and 3+ years' experience as a corporate lawyer or financial services lawyer.

Experience overseeing and maintaining Group governance structures, including charters and key governance documents, is also required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education: Bachelor of Law (or similar)

Qualifications: Governance qualifications from the Governance Institute of Australia and/or AICD
