About the Role

The NT Police is seeking a highly experienced and skilled individual to fill the position of Deputy Chief Executive Strategic and Enabling Services. This role will provide strategic leadership and high-quality advice and assistance to the Commissioner of Police, the Minister, and the agency to support the needs of the agency's frontline service provision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level strategic analysis, advice, and leadership on policy and corporate strategy to the Commissioner and Police Executive Management Group.
  • Lead the implementation of the NT Police Review Implementation Plan, including performance monitoring and reporting to the Police Review Implementation Steering Committee and Cabinet.
  • Deliver results through modelling strong effective leadership and driving a culture of high performance.
  • Ensure strong and contemporary corporate governance is in place in NT Police, and develop effective strategic, risk management, workforce, and business planning systems.
Selection Criteria
  • Extensive senior executive leadership experience, and strong management, organisational and planning capabilities.
  • Demonstrated strategic, conceptual and analytical skills, with a strong record of achievement in strategic planning, intergovernmental relations, corporate governance, and multi-agency collaboration.
  • Superior communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence others to build organisational capability and responsiveness.
  • High level of self-awareness, resilience, personal drive, and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated sound professional judgement and political acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Proven knowledge of and extensive experience with government processes.
