About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Executive Officer to lead our team at Basketball Northern Territory. As the CEO, you will be responsible for driving the growth and development of basketball in the Northern Territory, while also providing strategic leadership and direction to our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to grow basketball participation and development in the Northern Territory
  • Lead a small team of dedicated sports administrators, comprising one additional full-time staff member and several contractors engaged for specific programs
  • Provide services throughout the entire Territory, from urban areas to remote communities
  • Report against both strategic and operational priorities to the Board of Directors
  • Deliver national programs and participate in the Australian Junior Championships, along with the national 3x3 pathways
  • Provide training and development for coach and referee officials
  • Support operations of the NBL 1 organisation as a 50% owner of the Darwin Salties
Requirements
  • Sound financial acumen and ability to create and administer budgets
  • Knowledge of government funding/grant arrangements, acquittal and facilities policies
  • Ability to form strong relationships with government stakeholders
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Sports Management or Business
  • Working with Children/Working with Vulnerable People Check
  • Drivers Licence
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
