Strategic Workforce Development Specialist

Six Degrees Executive is partnering with a QLD Government agency to recruit an AO7 Principal HR Advisor to join their team on a contract basis.
This role leads the development and implementation of strategic workforce management programs and initiatives, including learning and development, safety and wellbeing initiatives, policy and procedure reviews or creation, and workforce planning.
The successful candidate will utilise their in-depth expertise to drive organisation-wide programs and strategies to build workforce capability into the future.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning, developing, leading, and evaluating significant and complex workforce projects and strategies to build organisational capability.
- Leading the development, design, and facilitation of key learning and development projects, including conducting a capability and development needs analysis, leadership development, and career progression strategy.
- Providing expert, strategic advice to senior management and stakeholders on issues affecting workforce planning and management within the agency.
- Managing individual complex employees, including rehabilitation cases as required.
- Researching and analysing risk, trends, or improvement opportunities, and providing well-informed evidence-based recommendations to drive quality decision-making.
- Identifying and collaborating in the development of workforce data and reporting to build capability in managers' knowledge and management of workforce.
- Preparing high-quality written documentation, including policy documents, submissions for action, reports, briefing notes, and other correspondence for senior stakeholders on complex and confidential workforce management issues.
Selection criteria include:
- Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver strategic initiatives in line with organisational imperatives across capability and organisational development.
- Demonstrated experience in providing high-level strategic and tactical advice to all levels of management relating to workforce management issues.
- Demonstrated highly developed conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills to provide quality advice and solutions to complex workforce issues.
- Experience managing rehabilitation cases would be highly regarded.
