Chef Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Sweta Pty Ltd T/A Lala's Kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding and knowledge of Indian food and ingredients, with a minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and two years of work experience in a similar role.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan menus, estimate food and labour costs, and order food supplies
- Experiment with recipes and suggest new dishes and ingredients
- Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Discuss food preparation issues with Managers, Dieticians, and kitchen and waiting staff
- Assign work to the kitchen staff
- Demonstrate techniques and advise on cooking procedures to other staff
- Prepare and cook food in a timely manner
- Freeze and preserve foods as per guidelines
- Prepare Chef Special of the day, weekends, and special occasions and festivals
- Advise wait staff about Chef's special and method of promotion
- Explain and enforce hygiene regulations at the workplace
- Select and train other staff members
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding and knowledge of Indian food and ingredients, with a minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and two years of work experience in a similar role.
