Lead Warehouse Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced and skilled leader to manage our afternoon shift operations at our Tullamarine Distribution Centre.

This is a salaried role with a 17.5% loading, working from 4pm to midnight. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the distribution centre's PM operations, ensuring delivery in full and on time through effective labour resourcing, fleet allocation, and outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a team of 20-25 employees to achieve operational excellence.
  • Evaluate and improve warehouse efficiency using continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
  • Identify root causes of issues, implement proactive action plans, and ensure policy compliance.
  • Implement new technologies, processes, and policies to enhance overall warehouse efficiency while maintaining a zero-harm environment.
  • Build strong relationships with other departments to maintain effective communication channels across all business units.

Requirements:

  • A strong leader who can foster a high-performing culture and influence key stakeholders.
  • Experience using continuous improvement tools to drive process efficiency and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of business planning systems for distribution and inventory management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to identifying and solving issues.
  • Previous experience managing and leading a team of warehouse workers, independently.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, and WMS.
  • Experience in supply chain scheduling, warehouse planning, and analysis.
  • Understanding of OH&S and COR legislation and responsibilities.
  • Proven track record in managing teams and developing people through training and performance management procedures.
