Intensive Therapeutic Support Professional

About This Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapeutic Youth Worker to join our team. As a Therapeutic Youth Worker, you will provide direct support and mentorship to children and young people living in Intensive Therapeutic Care homes.
The young people we support have experienced childhood trauma, abuse, neglect, and may have mental health, physical, or psychosocial disabilities. To succeed in this role, you should be a resilient problem solver, adaptable to an ever-changing environment, and a strong advocate for the young people you support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop caring, safe, and trusting relationships with young people.
- Meet daily needs of children and young people, working within legislative requirements.
- Provide daily care, supervision, and role modeling.
- Facilitate activities connecting the young person with family, community, and culture.
- Support participation in school, vocational training, or employment.
- Advocate effectively for the views of young people.
- Participate in team meetings, reflective practice, supervision, debriefing, and support activities.
Requirements:
- A Diploma in Community Services or related field, or current enrollment in a Degree or Diploma (qualification is desirable but not essential for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants with relevant experience).
- A current Provide First Aid certificate.
- Australian Driver's License.
