Support compliance processes, incident and breach management, and regulatory assurance for Australia and New Zealand operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the Head of Compliance on compliance reporting, incident and breach management, policy development and maintenance, and assurance work for Australia and New Zealand.
- Investigate incidents and breaches, ensuring timely identification, assessment, and reporting to meet regulatory requirements.
- Develop analysis and reports for the Incident and Breach review panel.
- Assist in identifying potential breaches of legislation, regulations, and obligations by the First Line.
- Enhance compliance management across the First Line of Defence by maintaining effective stakeholder relationships and developing compliance knowledge.
- Contribute to compliance training initiatives by generating content and assisting with delivery to business units and third-party providers.
- Support Compliance Assurance Reviews (CARs) and monitoring tasks.
- Assist the First Line in implementing changes to procedures and controls.
- Monitor and stay updated on relevant sanctions requirements.
- Compile and report on compliance activities to the Enterprise Risk Committee, Board Risk and Compliance Committee, and Board Audit Committee.
- Collaborate and share knowledge with compliance team members, Enterprise Risk Management, and Internal Audit to support the Three Lines of Defence/Responsibility model.
- Recent graduate in Law or a junior lawyer or compliance professional.
- Good understanding of regulatory requirements of insurance within Australia and New Zealand, with the ability to interpret regulation and legislation.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, including task scheduling, prioritisation, and resource allocation.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, including identifying, defining, and proactively addressing problems.
- Critical and analytical thinking skills, including information analysis, synthesis, and interpretation.
- Effective communication skills, both listening and speaking, with the ability to organise and clarify information.
- Initiative, with a proactive approach to situations and opportunities.
- Confidence and decisiveness, with the ability to act independently and handle adversity.
