Support Worker Role

We are seeking a passionate Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis.

This role involves providing support to individuals in their homes and within the community, promoting community inclusion, independence, decision making and personal choice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting participants to develop options, have choices and make well-grounded decisions
  • Ensuring relevant participant documentation and records are kept up to date
  • Communicating with other support workers and line manager regarding participant's cultural and linguistic needs
  • Ensuring participant individual plans are adhered to with regard to individual goals, development of skills, enhancement of independence, behaviour management
  • Ensuring Participants homes are kept in a clean, hygienic and homely condition according to the individual needs and wishes
  • Following the guidance of a senior staff member or line manager to ensure medication is administered appropriately
  • Ensuring participants personal care needs, as identified in each individual participant plan, are met
  • Engaging in education and development of participants to assist their independence with regard to personal care
  • Ensuring participant's privacy is adhered to at all times
  • Actively participating in work in accordance with rosters
