About the Role:

Australia's native wildlife requires conservation efforts to ensure their survival. As a global leader in this field, our organization delivers effective conservation results through a science-informed approach to land management.

We protect endangered species in iconic regions across Australia, including the Kimberley, Cape York and the Top End. Our mission is to deliver effective conservation for all native animal species and their habitats by:

  • Delivering large-scale land management services including fire management, feral animal control and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Conducting research on key issues such as feral cat control and population dynamics.
  • Mobilizing finance from the public and philanthropists to support conservation efforts.

The role of Wildlife Ecologist (National Science) assists the National Science Manager in progressing a range of tasks, including the development and coordination of our Ecohealth monitoring program, the coordination of the research program, and input to the research strategy.

The successful candidate will possess a PhD degree in ecology or a related discipline, experience in applied conservation ecology, team-building and collaboration skills, and the motivation to work in the private nature conservation sector.

This role may involve spending time on remote properties; however, it is predominantly office-based. The position will be based at a location agreed with us.
