Are you a visionary leader who can drive innovation and growth in a cross-functional team?

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Design System Experience team, responsible for making our design system more intuitive, empowering, and efficient for everyone who builds with it.

This is a unique opportunity to define the goals and technical roadmap for the team, informed by consumer needs and in collaboration with the team and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will drive thoughtful exploration of strategic opportunities — including ways the design system can support new AI-powered workflows.

They will ensure the team is happy, healthy, high-functioning, and impactful, to best deliver on goals.

Key responsibilities include conducting regular 1:1s to provide technical direction, mentorship, actionable feedback, setting priorities, and supporting coachees with execution.

Additionally, they will develop growth plans for engineers on the team, refine team processes to ensure effective and sustainable delivery, review PRs and design docs from the team, and contribute code towards delivery.

The ideal candidate will have people leadership experience providing constructive feedback to others and supporting other engineers to reach their goals.

They will also have working experience with a design system or maintaining components other teams depend on, but an interest in the problem space goes a long way.

A strong product mindset — ability to identify user problems and champion pragmatic, high-impact solutions — is essential.

Experience developing rich web applications, ideally using Typescript/React/MobX, and practical knowledge of data structures and algorithms, are nice to have.
