Information Technology and Systems Leadership Position

We are seeking a senior academic leader to provide disciplinary leadership in Information Technology and Systems (ITS), with responsibility for overseeing the delivery of ITS courses across all modes—online and face-to-face. The appointee will report directly to the Executive Dean.
\The role involves leading the academic development, delivery, and quality assurance of VIT's ITS courses, including the Bachelor of Information Technology and Systems, Master of Information Technology and Systems, Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma in Information Technology and Systems, and the Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Information System Studies. These programs are delivered to both domestic and international students across multiple campuses and delivery modes.
\The successful candidate will be responsible for providing academic leadership in the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of ITS courses, ensuring high-quality, industry-aligned, and student-centred curriculum. They will lead the development of new undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including coursework and research qualifications, in alignment with strategic priorities and market demand.
\Key Responsibilities:
\- Providing academic leadership in the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of ITS courses.
- Leading the development of new undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- Overseeing academic operations, including study plans, timetables, staffing, and academic integrity.
- Leading course innovation and quality assurance initiatives.
- Mentoring academic staff and fostering contemporary teaching practices.
- Engaging with industry, alumni, and professional networks to enhance Work-Integrated Learning opportunities and graduate outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills:
\- Minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership role preferably in Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and management while building strong teams and managing limited resources.
- Demonstrated teaching skills and enthusiasm for educating international students in higher education.
- AQF 10 (doctoral) qualification or equivalent blend of qualification and experience.
- Highly developed interpersonal communication skills and the ability to engage and manage staff and students.
