ICT Manager Job Description

Beaumont People is seeking an experienced ICT Manager to lead a dynamic team and contribute to the success of our client's IT infrastructure.

The ICT Manager will be responsible for the daily operational support, administration, and management of the College's ICT landscape. This includes overseeing an agile ICT team that serves the holistic needs of the College.

The ICT Manager will provide strategic and operational advice to ensure the smooth operations of the College. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering effective ICT service and support to all members of the College community and visitors.
  • Managing all aspects of ICT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, data storage, and ICT facilities.
  • Maintaining oversight of the cyber security posture and ensuring risks are proactively identified and mitigated.
  • Managing vendor relationships and overseeing the procurement of IT contracts and licenses.
  • Leading staff training to ensure ongoing uptake of digital tools.
  • Overseeing ICT budget and monitoring financial performance in collaboration with the director of Finance.
  • Providing technical expertise and leadership when planning and/or delivering ICT projects.
  • Developing and maintaining system recovery plans, including backup processes and emergency response plans, in the event of a cyber attack or total loss of essential infrastructure.
  • Collaborating with other College leaders when implementing the annual ICT operational plan and formulating the ICT strategic plan.
  • Providing leadership, mentorship, and support to the ICT team, fostering a collaborative and innovative working environment.

Key requirements for the ICT Manager role include:

  • Demonstrated management of a productive and effective team (ideally 5+ years).
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality ICT service and management (Education experience advantageous).
  • Experience in planning, managing, and prioritizing ICT duties, projects, and budgets.
  • Excellent knowledge of cyber security best practice.
  • Project management skills with a track record of successful implementation of ICT projects.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Hold a current WWCC, or be willing to obtain.
