Job Title: Shipwright

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Shipwright to join our team. As a Shipwright, you will be responsible for preparing and welding ship parts, including erection, alignment, and securing of ship sections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing templates and scale plans for fabrication and cutting of hull sections
  • Welding of centre bulkheads, frames, and brackets at portside and starboard side
  • Welding of longitudinal central bulkheads and rope reels
  • Performing welding on carbon steel pipes, stainless steel plates, steam, and high-pressurized pipes
  • Assembling shells of boats and erecting hull sections
  • May make hull moulds and fabricate and repair vessels using materials such as aluminium, wood, glass, reinforced plastics, carbon fibre, Kevlar, fibreglass, and concrete

Requirements:

  • Strong safety mindset
  • Nationally accredited OHS card (White/Blue Card)
  • Minimum 3 years' demonstrated experience
  • Team player with a safety-first attitude
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including D&A screen
