Job Title

This is a senior role in the Defence Marine Support Services (DMSS) Contract, requiring professional technical and trades expertise to ensure the safe operation and maintenance of various vessels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage docking projects from scope development through to execution.
  • Apply shipwright expertise to vessel maintenance and repair projects.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and ensure compliance with maritime regulations.
  • Lead warranty processes and oversee quality assurance documentation.
  • Support engineering investigations and liaise with vessel crews.
  • Direct schedule management and cost control for dockings.
  • Approve invoice claims and ensure administrative accuracy in asset systems.
Requirements
  • A minimum Certificate III Trade qualification (Shipwright or related) and relevant licences (Driver's and Forklift).
  • Extensive maritime experience, with at least three years in a senior or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in shipwright, vessel docking, or marine trades.
  • Knowledge of RAN operations and asset maintenance practices.
  • Competence in MS Office and Asset Management Systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
