Physical Testing Laboratory Technician Role

We are seeking a highly skilled laboratory technician to conduct physical tests on coal samples, including sample preparation, sizing, crushing, dividing, and storage.

The ideal candidate will have strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork. They will be responsible for handling coal samples and processing them according to instructions and current best methods.

This is a challenging role that requires excellent numeracy and literacy skills, as well as the ability to organize work, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines. The successful applicant will also be comfortable with safe manual handling duties, including repetitive lifting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct physical tests on coal samples
  • Handle coal samples and process them according to instructions
  • Load and unload coal samples from various plant streams
Requirements:
  • A valid driver's license
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
  • Ability to organise work, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines
