Experimental Coal Sampler

We are seeking a skilled laboratory technician to perform physical testing of coal samples. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner.

• Handling coal samples and processing them according to instructions and current best methods.
• Loading and unloading coal samples from various plant streams.
• A range of physical tests including sample preparation, sizing, crushing, dividing, and sample storage.
• Transfer validated results into the reporting system.
• Calibration and maintenance of specialized equipment.

• A valid driver's license.
• A strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• Ability to organize work, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.
• Comfortable with safe manual handling duties, including repetitive lifting.
• Competent within a strong safety culture.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new systems.
• Previous coal sampling experience would be an advantage but not essential.
• Flexible and able to perform shift work and weekend work as required.

To be eligible to work at the organization, you must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or either hold or be able to obtain a valid working visa. As part of the selection process, a pre-employment medical exam is required, including drug and alcohol assessment.
