Job Opportunity: Microbiologist

We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and vibrant team.

About the Role:
  • Performing routine microbiological procedures from specimen reception to execution of results for pathological diagnosis.
  • Recording of results in line with protocols.
  • Maintaining current scientific knowledge.
  • Participating in Quality Assurance activities and contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Developing new assays as required and participating in staff training.
  • Liaising with internal and/or external stakeholders regarding test results or referrals.
  • Ensuring compliance with Policies and Procedures, Workplace Health and Safety Procedures and Quality Assurance Processes.
About You:
  • Demonstrated expertise within Microbiology.
  • Sound knowledge of QC, QAP and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to identify and implement quality and service improvement activities.
  • Independent work and commitment to excellence.
  • Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to cope and thrive in a busy environment.
  • Self-initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent qualification.
