Research Scientist

Work in a dynamic laboratory environment as a microbiologist where you will be responsible for performing routine procedures from specimen reception to execution of results. You will record results, maintain scientific knowledge and participate in quality assurance activities.

About the Role

The role involves:

• Performing all routine microbiological procedures from point of specimen reception to execution of results for pathological diagnosis.
• Recording of results in line with protocols.
• Maintaining current scientific knowledge.
• Participation in both routine and audit related Quality Assurance activities.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following essential requirements:

• Demonstrated knowledge, expertise and skills within microbiology.
• Sound knowledge of QC, QAP and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification.
