Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Officer to join our Explosive Ordnance Services team. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in providing logistics services to the Department of Defence.

The Explosive Ordnance Services team provides support across multiple sites in Australia, working closely with over 300 members of staff. Your responsibilities will include identifying maintenance requirements, liaising with contractors, and conducting regular site inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and report on maintenance requirements through daily activities and monthly site inspections
  • Liaise with contractors to coordinate maintenance work
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety protocols
  • Prepare and submit requests for site maintenance and improvements
  • Provide technical and logistical support to team members

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Completed training or demonstrated competence in AQF Level IV Certificate
  • Warehousing experience and knowledge of inventory management
  • Experience as an Explosive Ordnance Driver
  • Familiarity with Explosive Ordnance procedures and administration

Special Requirements:

  • Australian citizenship
  • Defence Security Clearance to Negative Vetting Level 2 (Top Secret)
  • Ability to travel within Australia
  • Ability to work additional hours when required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform frequent lifting tasks safely
  • Colour perception and good hearing
