Freight Handler

A Freight Handler is a vital position in guaranteeing the efficient movement and receipt of freight. Key responsibilities include loading, unloading, and securing dangerous goods freight of all sizes.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience using ratchet straps, chains, and binders on a daily basis. They must be passionate about logistics and thrive in a challenging yet rewarding workplace.

To succeed in this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our operations, making a real impact on our overall performance.

  • Operating various sized counterbalance forklifts (2.5T, 7T, and 16T)
  • Ensuring all documentation accurate and completed for freight in the received, loaded, staged, and unloaded functions
  • Preparation of outgoing freight ensuring that goods are secured and packed correctly for dispatch

The successful applicant will also undertake a security check as part of pre-employment. Additional skills and experience desired include:

  • Current Forklift Licence (LF) - highly preferable
  • Experience with dangerous goods freight - desirable
  • Experience in load restraints using ratchet straps, chains, and binders
  • Ability to take direction from management and supervisors
  • Manual car license
