Job Title: Activation Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Activation Officer to join our team at the Department of the Chief Minister and Cabinet. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and promoting the delivery of activation events, projects, and initiatives across stakeholder groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Management: Develop and manage activation events and initiatives, including scheduling, program budget, logistics, and stakeholder relations.
  • Program Development: Develop a calendar of activities and programs that leverages existing events and identifies opportunities for new activities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key point of contact and liaison with other organizations delivering events and activities, facilitating co-investment opportunities and partnerships.
  • Evaluation and Reporting: Embed an evaluation process to ensure that events and activities are effective and deliver economic and social benefit to the community.
  • Grant Management: Manage grants programs for activation and placemaking activities.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders within and external to the NT Government.

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • Demonstrated project management skills with experience working with government, business, and key stakeholders to develop and implement projects and/or events.
  • Strong operational skills in logistics, resource management, OH&S, and security.
  • Budget and grant management.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and liaise with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to take accountability and ownership of duties and problems, supported by excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work under general directions while effectively managing priorities, planning, and activities to achieve goals.

Desirable:

  • An ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
  • A sound knowledge of the Northern Territory.
