Job Title: Child Health Care Specialist

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Child Health Care Specialist, providing comprehensive health services to children aged 0-5 years and their families. The ideal candidate will have current registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with AHPRA, as well as specific postgraduate qualification in Child and Family Health Nursing or near completion.

The role involves working in partnership with families within a primary health care setting, requiring high-level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing evidence-based health services to children aged 0-5 years and their families
  • Undertaking physical, emotional and psychosocial assessments to identify families' strengths and vulnerabilities
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive health plans to address identified needs
  • Working closely with families to promote healthy outcomes and prevent illness
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless service delivery
Requirements:
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with AHPRA
  • Specific postgraduate qualification in Child and Family Health Nursing or near completion
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with families and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
