Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and ambitious Maintenance Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with a production operator to support in scheduled maintenance activities, collaborating with their team to problem-solve equipment or process related issues.

The role involves performing specialized maintenance tasks including scheduled and breakdown maintenance as well as high-order problem-solving. You will ensure high-speed packaging machinery is set up and operating efficiently, minimizing downtime and improving reliability.

You will serve as a subject matter expert in diagnostics and continuous improvement, coaching and mentoring team members to build operational capability. Additionally, you will maintain and enhance preventative maintenance programs within your area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform specialized maintenance tasks (60-70% of the time), including scheduled and breakdown maintenance, as well as high-order problem-solving.
  • Ensure high-speed packaging machinery is set up and operating efficiently, minimizing downtime and improving reliability.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in diagnostics and continuous improvement, coaching and mentoring team members to build operational capability.
  • Maintain and enhance preventative maintenance programs within your area of responsibility.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A trade qualifications in a relevant field (e.g., Fitting, Maintenance).
  • Experience with high-speed packaging and machinery, ideally in FMCG or similar environments.
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement skills with a structured approach to problem-solving.
