Ocius Technology is an Australian company dedicated to developing and deploying cutting-edge Uncrewed Surface Vehicles (USVs). Our vessels harness wind, solar, and wave power to remain at sea collecting vital data for Defence and Civilian applications.

We are under contracts with RAN, RNZN, and USA, and are responding in an agile way to an ambitious program of building and deploying multiple USVs for operations around Australia and beyond.

About the Role

The Senior Maintenance Technician will supervise all Bluebottle maintenance activities within our Alexandria Workshop. You will collaborate with stakeholders from across the business to ensure that all relevant maintenance is performed to a high standard.

The Operations function is responsible for all on-water piloting, routing, maintenance, and launching and recovering of all Ocius assets.

A typical day as the Senior Maintenance Technician could include:

  • Supervising and completing inspections, cleaning, and maintenance of USVs, workshop, and trailers where required
  • Providing clear direction, fostering teamwork, and mentoring technicians to enhance performance and skill development
  • Ensuring all work complies with company standards and safety regulations

Selection Criteria

  • Forklift, Coxswains NC1, and Marine Engine Driver 2 tickets
  • Demonstrated experience working in a senior workshop position with electrical and mechanical experience in a marine environment
  • Proven ability to liaise with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, engineering) and external contractors
  • Experience in using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems and maintaining accurate work records, parts inventories, and service documentation
  • Experience in a supervisory or foreman-type role in a maintenance workshop
