Job Overview

Central Australian Aboriginal Congress Aboriginal Corporation is a leading provider of primary health care services to Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory. We are seeking an experienced Sexual Health Nurse to join our team and contribute to our Enhanced Syphilis Response Program (ESRP).

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing targeted screening programs for sexually transmissible infections (STIs) in Central Australia, with a focus on addressing the current syphilis outbreak. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct STI screenings and provide treatment and monitoring as needed;
  • Work closely with the Sexual Health Coordinator to develop specialist skills and knowledge in the area of sexual health and blood-borne viruses;
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care;
  • Provide education and support to patients on STI prevention and management;
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse in the Northern Territory;
  • Experience working in a sexual health or infectious diseases setting;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • High level of cultural competence and understanding of Aboriginal health issues;
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of $103,759 - $110,838 per annum, plus district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, and estimated tax savings from salary packaging options. Our Total Effective Package is estimated to be $126,982 - $134,982 per annum.*
