Job Overview:

The role of National Asset Manager involves leading the Bureau's asset management capability to achieve industry best practice standards.

This position oversees a team responsible for providing leadership and expertise across the organisation's significant assets, including network instrumentation, property, facilities, ICT, software, and intangible assets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the Bureau's asset management policies, practices, and standards, as well as reviewing and refining asset replacement and investment plans, sustainment planning, and long-term strategic management of assets within the organisation.

This position plays a key role in the ongoing uplift and acceptance of the Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) and is also responsible for managing the Bureau's observing network assets portfolio.

The initial focus has been on Radars, Automatic Weather Stations, Tsunami Buoys, Rain Gauges, and Flood warning equipment distributed across 12,500 sites across all states and territories of Australia.

Further expansion and implementation of asset management practices across other business areas are required.
