The New Bundaberg Hospital project is one of our major initiatives, where we have been selected by the Queensland Government as managing contractor for stage one. Our role involves leading the design phase, which includes designing a new six-storey hospital for acute, medical, surgical and mental health services, as well as emergency, clinical support services, and associated infrastructure.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Professional Safety Manager to join our team in this exciting project. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining a strong safety culture on the project site.
  • Liaising with regulatory authorities, project stakeholders, and emergency service organisations to ensure compliance and maintain industry relationships.
  • Monitoring and reporting on safety performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Managing all aspects of Health & Safety, Environment & Quality for the project.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary degree in Safety, Environmental, Project Management, Building, or Construction.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience working in a similar role, preferably with a Tier 1 construction company.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant safety legislation and ability to interpret applicable statutes or legislation.
  • Experience in managing Health & Safety, Environment & Quality for a large-scale construction project.
  • Availability to work a 10:4 roster, with FIFO options available from Brisbane.
