Job Description:

We are looking for a talented Data Science Innovator to join our team in Sydney. As an AI Engineer, you will work closely with senior educators to develop and deploy AI solutions that improve student experiences, streamline business processes, and enhance decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior educators to identify and solve unique education-business problems using data science and AI techniques
  • Develop and manage pipelines and workflows using cloud-based AI services and frameworks (e.g., Google Vertex AI, Amazon Bedrock/Sagemaker, Azure AI)
  • Create internal and customer-facing AI agents and applications, including chatbots
  • Maintain code infrastructure and document the development process, including architecture, deployment procedures, testing, and tools
  • Define and maintain best practices in non-biased, safe, secure, and scalable AI
  • Communicate technical concepts and structures to non-technical stakeholders

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Computer science degree or similar, preferably with strengths in data science, machine learning, or AI
  • 3+ years of commercial software developer experience
  • Demonstrated experience creating products and taking them through to production
  • Demonstrated experience using one or more major cloud platforms and services (GCP, AWS, Azure)
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more programming languages such as C, Java, Python, or Rust, and front-end HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript
  • Familiarity with ethical AI principles and responsible AI practices
  • Autonomous yet collaborative work style
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor
  • Quick grasp of complex concepts and emerging technologies
  • Adaptable communication tailored to individual or company needs
