Transformative Data Science Role

As a Senior Data Scientist within the Customer Engagement and Digital Area at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, you will play a pivotal role in harnessing AI and machine learning to deliver exceptional banking experiences for our customers.

You will work closely with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams to design and implement cutting-edge data science solutions that can be seamlessly integrated into our award-winning banking app, used by millions of customers daily.

This role demands a strong business acumen, coupled with proven experience in applying statistics, machine learning, and AI to drive customer-centric initiatives. You will collaborate with analytics communities across the bank to leverage data and AI in enhancing customer financial wellbeing, creating next-generation experiences, improving productivity, and reducing risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate market-leading responsible AI capabilities, practices, and models.
  • Tackle new, challenging business problems in data science using AI and machine learning responsibly.
  • Combine statistics, AI, and analytics to find innovative solutions adding strategic value to the business.
  • Collaborate with risk, product, and technical teams to proactively solve data problems and influence stakeholders positively.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks; strong coding skills to implement ideas quickly and write production code.
  • Substantial experience in developing, validating, deploying, and monitoring statistical and machine learning models using Python, SQL, R, or other languages.
  • Experience building and testing Generative AI solutions is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of model governance best practices.
  • Practical experience with command line, GitHub, AWS, and CI/CD pipeline.

Compensation and Benefits:
