About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Data Science Innovation Manager to join our dynamic Data Science team at WiseTech Global, a renowned Australian Software Development Company specializing in advanced solutions for the logistics industry.

Job Overview:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply their expertise to solve challenging logistics problems by implementing innovative, advanced approaches using machine learning and other algorithmic solutions. As a key player of our growing team, you will have the chance to transform creative ideas into reality in a stimulating and inclusive environment.

About You:

  • You hold a BSc in Computer Science or other STEM subjects, or comparable work experience.
  • You have 3-5 years of working experience in machine learning/AI in a commercial environment.
  • You possess strong programming skills in Python, with additional experience with C# being a plus.
  • You have experience in building and evaluating production-ready machine learning models.
  • You are familiar with PyTorch, Tensorflow or other machine learning frameworks.
  • Bonus points if you have knowledge about transformers, Large Language Models and other SOTA models.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  1. Bring state-of-art machine learning models from ideas into production.
  2. Take ownership of complex projects, and deliver well-structured, well-tested, production-ready solutions.
  3. Design and build innovative machine learning and other algorithmic solutions, API services, and data pipelines.
  4. Collaborate with multiple technical and non-technical stakeholders like product managers or software engineers.
  5. Monitor, analyze, and improve the quality of existing feature implementations using statistical methods.
  6. Coach and support more junior colleagues.
