Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Supervisor to lead our workshop operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient performance of our technicians and the administration of our workshop.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Performance and Administration: You will oversee the operational performance and administration of the assigned workshop and technicians as directed by management.
  • Customer Liaison: Develop strong relationships with customers to identify new business opportunities and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Scheduling and Completion: Manage the scheduling and completion of all site work to meet client requirements and deadlines.
  • Supervision: Supervise the professional and ethical performance and conduct of both permanent and supplementary employees.
  • Design/Build: Manage the design/build of new equipment, modifications, and maintenance of existing equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Safety Inductions: Conduct regular safety inductions and training plans for all new and existing personnel (including contractors and labour hire) to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Safety Equipment: Ensure that all employees and contractors have access to necessary safety equipment and tools and are trained in their proper use.
  • Purchasing: Purchase additional equipment, safety gear, components for jobs, and workshop supplies as needed in line with established procedures.
  • Daily Diary: Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily diaries and provide regular reports as required.
  • Service Job Sheets: Monitor service job sheets for contract work to ensure accurate charging and cost control.
  • Work Hours: Ensure reasonable work hours are maintained, including monitoring start/stop times and meal/smoke breaks, both onsite at customer premises and in the workshop.
  • Safe Working Environment: Maintain a safe working environment by conducting regular safety inspections and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Workshop Efficiency: Ensure the overall cleanliness and efficiency of the workshop, including maintaining organized storage and adequate facilities.
  • Client Compliants: Address any client complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, escalating serious matters to management as necessary.
  • Professional Team: Foster a positive and productive team culture within the workshop, promoting open communication and collaboration among employees.
  • Marketing: Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing strategies to promote Company products and services.
  • Equipment Movement: Coordinate equipment movement requests, recording and reporting details as required.
  • Training: Allocate resources and time for employee training and skills development, collaborating with management to identify areas for improvement.
  • Quality Health and Safety System: Ensure all workshop activities comply with the Quality Health and Safety System for the supply of services and products to clients.
  • Company Policies: Ensure all workshop activities adhere to established company policies and procedures.
  • Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain workshop equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
