Last Point of Departure Officer (LPOD) - Aviation Security

As a critical component of international aviation security, the Last Point of Departure Officer plays a pivotal role in safeguarding airport operations. Reporting to the Site Manager, this position involves managing access at international boarding gates, conducting thorough searches, and monitoring restricted areas.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  1. Complete comprehensive screening and inspections of property, catering items, and aircraft.
  2. Oversee access control and verify travel documentation at designated checkpoints.
  3. Record and maintain accurate security logs.
  4. Provide professional customer service, assist with lost property, and respond to queries.
  5. Support health, safety, and operational procedures, including regular training and compliance activities.

This challenging and rewarding role requires the ability to obtain an ASIC Card and possess a Security Licence relevant to the state or territory. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and the capacity to work various shifts are essential. A keen eye for detail, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality are also vital attributes.
