Aboriginal Homelessness Reform Specialist

We are seeking a Senior Policy Officer to lead our Aboriginal Homelessness Reform team. This role will provide high-level policy, advocacy and secretariat support on matters relating to Aboriginal homelessness reform in Victoria.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert knowledge of Victorian Aboriginal societies and cultures.
- Demonstrated understanding of social, economic, and political factors affecting housing and homelessness.
- An understanding of historical and contemporary impacts of homelessness and housing exclusion on Aboriginal communities.
- Expert knowledge of Victorian Aboriginal societies and cultures.
- Demonstrated understanding of social, economic, and political factors affecting housing and homelessness.
- An understanding of the roles of Advocacy Groups and Service Providers in the Victorian Aboriginal community.
This is an Identified Position open only to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates who possess a deep understanding of the issues at hand.
Job ObjectivesThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic advice to the team and contributing to the development of policies that address the needs of Aboriginal people experiencing homelessness.
DeliverablesThe successful candidate will be expected to deliver the following:
- Policies and procedures that reflect the needs and priorities of Aboriginal people experiencing homelessness;
- Research and analysis that informs policy decisions;
- Strategic advice that supports the achievement of outcomes for Aboriginal people experiencing homelessness.
