Aboriginal Justice Reform Manager

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Manager to oversee the development and delivery of Phase 5 of the Victorian Aboriginal Justice Agreement.
This critical role will involve leading a project team, coordinating the implementation of the agreement, and providing high-level advice to support the Director and other stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of Aboriginal culture and society, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and experience delivering policy and reform through community partnership.
They will also be able to provide sophisticated and culturally aware engagement with Aboriginal communities and advisory groups.
Additionally, the candidate should have strong knowledge of public policy development and implementation, Cabinet processes, and Government decision-making processes.
- Lead and manage project teams to coordinate the development and delivery of Phase 5 of the Victorian Aboriginal Justice Agreement.
- Provide high-quality and effective engagement with the Aboriginal Justice Caucus and other key stakeholders.
- Deliver policy and reform through community partnership and targeted engagement.
- Excellent knowledge of Aboriginal culture and society.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience delivering policy and reform through community partnership.

The Koori Justice Unit (KJU) is responsible for the stewardship, coordination, and implementation of Burra Lotjpa Dunguludja Victorian Aboriginal Justice Agreement Phase 4 (AJA4).
It provides coordination and support to the Aboriginal Justice Forum (AJF) and its associated partnership mechanisms.
The AJF delivers on the goals of the AJA, and KJU plays a key role in this process.
As part of the KJU, the Manager will work closely with the Aboriginal Justice Caucus and other key stakeholders to develop and implement the AJA5.
They will also engage with the department's key Aboriginal partnership, the Aboriginal Justice Caucus, and other Aboriginal stakeholders.
