About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Property Partner to join our Facilities Workstream at Catholic Schools Broken Bay. This is a permanent, full-time role based at our head office in Pennant Hills, with expectations to travel to various schools across our Diocese.

The ideal candidate will have commercial acumen and be an effective collaborator. As a Property Partner, you will oversee various property projects from planning to implementation stages, including repairs and maintenance, and compliance.

This role will contribute quality project delivery skills to ensure CSBB schools and office spaces reflect our commitment to offering contemporary learning environments that support student engagement and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Management: Plans and manages the implementation of minor capital works safely, efficiently, and within budget and program expectations.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Applies best practice principles to project management, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and/or legislation, and managing risk to deliver projects on time, within budget, within scope, and with high quality outcomes.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Responds to and follows up all stakeholder queries, requests for maintenance, and status of approved works in a timely manner.
  • School Site Visits: Undertakes school site visits to scope school needs, ensure the Principal is supported in managing property projects, and external party requirements are met.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Provides accurate reporting and documentation to meet deadlines pertaining to facilities work and longer-term projects.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Manages stakeholder engagement, expectations, and communication with local councils and authorities, schools, and local communities to develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships.
  • Contractor Management: Ensures the credentials of contractors are registered and secures references.
  • Technical Advice: Provides technical construction and project management advice to colleagues and prepares documentation to support potential works.
  • Team Collaboration: Works collaboratively with peers in the Facilities and Procurement team to continuously improve design standards to meet ongoing CSBB operational needs.
  • Strategy Development: Assists in developing strategies to continually improve CSBB and schools' shared responsibilities to ensure school facilities are maintained to be safe and optimal learning and teaching environments adequate for the courses of study and student cohort numbers.
  • Asset Transition: Works within the team to ensure smooth transition of new assets for ongoing maintenance in accordance with relevant legislation and maintenance planning.
  • On-Site Support: As required, works on-site at schools to support Principals in managing property projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or related discipline and demonstrated professional experience in facilities management.
  • A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
  • Holds a NSW WorkCover White Card.
  • Understanding of WHS legislation and regulations.
  • Current NSW driver's licence and own car required for travel across the Diocese.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and liaise with professionals working with building disciplines.
  • Experience in working in the construction, property management, or property maintenance environment with a focus on delivering projects.
  • Demonstrated planning, organisational, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple and concurrent projects/tasks.
  • Outstanding skills in stakeholder engagement and management.
  • Strong governance and reporting experience.
  • Demonstrated management of risk to deliver projects on time, within budget, within scope, and with high quality outcomes.
  • A strong work ethic with a genuine passion for working with the customer in mind to serve their needs and requirements.
  • Maintains a degree of independence to develop a suitable approach in managing workload.
  • Knows and adheres to legislation, guidelines, and organisational policies and procedures in all relevant areas of work.
  • A keen eye for detail to deliver consistently accurate and informed written and verbal communications suitable for the receiving audience.
  • Energised by working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptive and responsive to change and can adapt to working under pressure and re-prioritising tasks.
  • Manages competing priorities and the sensitivities of others to deliver high-quality work.
