About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Counselling Professional to join our Student Support and Engagement department.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in providing support services to high-risk clients, requiring case management, referral, crisis, and reactive support. A tertiary qualification relevant to youth, social work, counselling, or community services is also required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering counselling and wellbeing services to Chisholm students, with the aim of improving student outcomes through early identification, intervention, support, referral, and first response to students in crisis.

This role requires the astute handling of sensitive, complex, and demanding scenarios involving multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to students through individual sessions across various channels, including face-to-face, phone, web chat, and video conferencing.
  • Deliver broad support through class talks, workshops, resource creation, and support to educators to meet the needs of the student body from both proactive and reactive approaches.
  • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to provide support and guidance as an initial response to a student in crisis and complete post-crisis activities in line with the Student Support and Engagement crisis presentation process.
Requirements

A minimum of 3 years' experience as a psychologist/counsellor/welfare provider to high-risk clients requiring case management, referral, crisis, and reactive support service.

Tertiary qualification relevant to youth, social work, counselling, or community services.

Registration or membership with PACFA, ACA, or AASW.
