About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Experience Designer to join our team at Westpac Group. As a Senior Experience Designer, you will play a key role in shaping the customer experience across our digital products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspire and mentor junior team members to help them grow and develop in their careers.
  • Support cross-functional squads to identify opportunities to solve customer problems and conceptualise solutions to inform the roadmap.
  • Facilitate workshops and co-design sessions to help define the problem-space, support cross-functional collaboration, and drive meaningful ideation to solve customer problems.
  • Use storytelling to communicate design rationale and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define detailed solutions.
  • Own on-the-job design decisions and actively share work with the team for feedback, direction, and progress updates to ensure consistent quality outcomes.
  • Work with XD Researchers and Data Analytics to lead research briefs and methodologies to help gain actionable insights, including actively mentoring junior designers.
  • Support research operations, including recruitment, facilitating testing sessions, and actively contributing to analysis and synthesis.
  • Help improve design workflows and inform processes to produce design documentation with measurable outcomes.
  • Drive engagement with the design systems team to enable other designers to effectively leverage component libraries and improve workflows for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor other designers to help broaden the team's capabilities and grow those around you within your subject matter expertise.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the digital product design field.
  • Experience working autonomously on strategic initiatives.
  • Extensive experience working collaboratively within cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong emotional intelligence, with the ability to listen, be curious, and empathise with the ability to influence.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and adapt to change.
