Role Overview

We are currently seeking a seasoned Internal Audit Manager to join our Government Services division in Sydney, NSW.

About the Role

This newly created position offers great flexibility and hybrid working arrangements for those professionals eager to add value while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. As an Internal Audit Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end internal audits (operational risk, regulatory and compliance audits), controls assurance and efficiency improvement across state and local government.

This hands-on, client-facing role may involve occasional travel. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions to drive business growth and improve governance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and audit planning to ensure effective identification and mitigation of risks.
  • Lead and manage audit teams to deliver high-quality audit reports that meet client expectations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure long-term engagement and growth.
Qualifications & Experience

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A qualified or part-qualified CA/CPA/ACCA/CIA or degree with 5+ years' internal audit experience in industry or chartered.
  • Big 4 or mid-tier chartered experience is highly advantageous.
  • Strong exposure to Australian government entities or other sectors is welcome.
  • Superior communication and people skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and build lasting relationships.
  • Adaptability, self-direction, and a strong team player mindset.
