Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist will play a vital role in managing the company's payroll process, ensuring accuracy, eligibility, and timeliness of payments in accordance with relevant legislation and organisational policies.
This role requires strong knowledge of payroll and relevant legislation, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will work closely with the Payroll team to provide internal subject matter expertise on superannuation, redundancy calculations, and payroll tax.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage monthly payroll process, ensuring correctness, eligibility, and timeliness of payments
- Provide internal subject matter expertise on superannuation, redundancy calculations, and payroll tax
- Liaise with employees at all levels, answering queries in a clear and accurate manner
- Review and oversee current payroll practices, determining efficiencies and implementing changes
- Assist with reporting where required
Requirements
- Strong background and working knowledge in Payroll and relevant legislation
- Payroll compliance knowledge, including sound employment tax and industrial relation knowledge
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- General problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with business and technical resources
