We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Dementia Consultant. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of people living with dementia.
The successful candidate will have experience supporting people living with dementia and understand the importance of a person-centred approach to care.
A key responsibility of this role will be to support families, caregivers, and clinical staff in understanding how dementia impacts each individual.
Key Responsibilities:
To equip carers and clinicians with the skills and knowledge required to prevent and respond to behaviour changes through modelling, coaching, and development of resources including behaviour support planning.
To develop reports that are contextualised to individual situations and people, that effect change on the ground and improve quality of life for people living with dementia.
To undertake a range of assessments that help to understand the holistic experience of the person and their care network.
Additional Requirements:
Experience supporting older people, ideally within Australian residential and/or community aged care settings, including an understanding of the unique needs of older people in regional and remote areas.
Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship building skills.
