The Royal Flying Doctor Service is seeking an experienced IT Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, management, and performance of our IT functions, products, and services.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop the IT Service teams, focusing on current applications and infrastructure needs, and considering future technologies required.
- Oversee teams involved in the design, development, and deployment of scalable solutions to achieve business priorities and requirements by managing both the internal IT team and external providers.
- Align the business with standardized systems that deliver performance and efficiency gains.
- Develop and manage the IT budget for the short and mid-term through commercial assessment and considerations, and strong cost controls.
- Work with the RFDS National IT teams to evaluate current and future systems platform proposals and keep the local leadership team updated on impacts, opportunities, and changes.
- Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery infrastructure, processes, and documentation are in place to enable business operations to continue in the event of a disruption.
- Provide advice to Senior Management and Leadership teams on IT strategic planning and opportunities, IT risk management, and continuous quality improvement.
- Champion and ensure adherence to IT Change Management controls and process.
We are looking for a knowledgeable IT Manager with proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing systems and solutions. You should be an expert IT specialist with experience in IT Infrastructure and cloud services design, and hands-on experience in data management. A motivated leader with an understanding of data governance and healthcare data privacy regulations is essential. You should also be an effective communicator with outstanding collaboration skills and a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
Requirements- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or health informatics.
- 12 years in the Information Technology industry with a minimum of 7 years of management experience in a similar role.
- Minimum of 7 years of technical experience in systems and solutions design, development, and implementation, and 6 years of technical experience in IT Infrastructure and cloud services design and/or support.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in data management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Experience in the implementation of ITIL.
